Heralded by Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda as “the next big thing on Broadway,” Mexican musical multi-hyphenate Jaime Lozano makes his Chicago debut at the Wirtz Center Chicago this fall as part of his residency at AMTP. This one night only concert, presented by and supporting the work of AMTP and Teatro Vista Productions, brings together Lozano and his frequent collaborators with ensemble members of Teatro Vista and students from Northwestern’s acclaimed theatre program. Drawn from his albums Songs by an Immigrant and Songs by an Immigrant Vol. 2. Lozano’s work honestly portrays the challenges of the first- and second-generation middle class U.S. immigrant experience: finding a new home, learning a new language, dealing with discrimination, pursuing the American Dream, and searching for ways to build bridges instead of walls.
Join us for a pre-show reception hosted by Teatro Vista Productions starting at 6:00pm, followed by the concert at 7:00pm.
Tickets are free, but donations are highly encouraged. All proceeds will benefit TVP and AMTP and their commitment to developing and supporting new work.
