Presenting…a brand-new musical revue featuring student performers alongside the Jeff Award winning Alexis J. Roston and lyricist Cheryl Coons herself! AMTP is Northwestern’s initiative to bring professional musical theatre writers to campus to develop work-in-progress with students, and this show continues our new focus on celebrating Chicago-area musical theatre writers. Join us Feb 6-8, 2026 at our downtown venue, Wirtz Center Chicago for an evening of hilarious and heartfelt show tunes.

This newly imagined musical revue spotlights the creations of one of Chicago’s foremost musical dramatists…the celebrated lyricist Cheryl Coons! “Yadda Yadda Yadda” follows Cheryl as she faces off against an IRS investigator to prove she’s a professional musical theatre writer–aided by characters that leap to life from musicals written throughout her career. This revue celebrates new musical theatre and asks the timeless artist’s question…Is passion enough to sustain a lifelong career?
