Based on the novel by Timothy Findley

Music and Lyrics by Neil Bartram

Book by Brian Hill

Directed by Amanda Dehnert

Not Wanted on the Voyage is a postmodern fable about the end of the world told through the lens of the biblical apocalypse, the Great Flood. Adapted from the landmark novel by Timothy Findley, Voyage is the story of survivors and what happens when the world as we know it is washed away. Through stunning theatricality, Voyage takes its audience on a journey through a world of fantasy, magic and flights of imagination.

AMTP began its support of Neil and Brian’s project in January 2008 with development of Act One. This April, Neil and Brian returned to Chicago for a residence to develop Act Two. The collaboration will continue with a
workshop in 2010.

Neil Bartram is the recipient of a Dramatists Guild Jonathan Larson Fellowship and the Jonathan Larson Foundation award. He and writer/director Brian Hill have collaborated on the development of The Nightengale and the Rose and Clara’s Piano, workshopped in 2008 by the Stratford Shakespeare Festival with director/conceiver Susan Schulman. They are the creative team of The Story of My Life which gained recognition through the NAMT Festival of New Musicals and received a workshop production at Goodspeed. The Story of My Life had its Broadway premiere in February 2009 directed by Richard Maltby, Jr. and starring Malcolm Gets and Will Chase. For more information, visit www.bartramandhill.com.
